The Northwestern State athletic department will honor the late Thomas Foster throughout the weekend of Sept. 24, which is the date of NSU’s home-opening football game against Lamar.
Foster was a longtime custodian in the NSU athletic fieldhouse who became a de facto NFL liaison and befriended and mentored countless Demon student-athletes throughout his tenure at Northwestern State. He died in August at age 69.
The athletic department will host a gathering of Foster’s family members and former NSU student-athletes at 6 p.m. Sept. 23 in the Stroud Room. Those invited are asked to share stories and remembrances of Foster, whose legacy lives on here at Northwestern State and within NFL scouting circles.
Food and drinks will be served at the gathering. Interested players who plan on attending should RSVP to Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations Jason Pugh at email@example.com.
