Trees removed at Courthouse

The two Magnolia trees flanking the entrance to the Natchitoches Parish Courthouse were removed today, Sept. 10. At the Council’s meeting in May, it was said that the overgrown trees have been a contributing factor to the deterioration of the building’s facade. A smaller tree species will be planted in their place which will allow a full view of the stonework at the entry doors.

A council member told the NPJ that they plan to wash the building next.
