The Natchitoches Parish Council authorized $60,000 in funding for FAUNA (Friends All United for Natchitoches Animals), an LLC formed by the consolidation of the Natchitoches Humane Society and Natchitoches Hope for Paws at its Sept. 19 meeting. This funding amount will be made in the following amounts:
a. $10,000 (consolidated amounts of the annual $5,000/each contribution to the Natchitoches Humane Society, and Natchitoches Hope for Paws)
b. $50,000 for partial funding of urgent animal safety infrastructure projects at both current organizations’ facilities.
In tandem with the funding for FAUNA, the Parish Council authorized the Parish President to enter into a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with the City of Natchitoches to fund a study to detail the needs of the required animal control facility for the Natchitoches City and Parish. Total cost for this study is anticipated to be $12,500, shared equally between both the City of Natchitoches and the Natchitoches Parish Government.

Resolutions:
Council to consider adopting a resolution-035-2022 that the Parish has complied with all requirements of the Federal Off-System Bridge Replacement
Program.
Other Agenda Items:
Council to approve a change order for Fish Hatchery Road to correct an error in the total amount shown for Change Order No. 3; and 2 to reconcile the original plan quantities to the final quantities for contract items that exhibited a variance from the original quantity.
Council t o approve a Change Order 1 for Bermuda Road to provide for the construction of an alternate base course from Project Station No. 160+00 to 190+00, in reduce the potential for desiccation cracking after construction of
the new asphalt pavement in this area. And Change Order 2 for Bermuda Road to provide for the extension of the existing cross-drain structure located at Project Station 188+39, in order to provide a flatter roadway fore-slope at this location for improved safety to motorists.
Council to consider award of low bid for resurfacing of Harmony Road to Regional Construction, LLC in the amount of $3,210,300.90.
Council to consider approving the submission of an application to the FY 2022-2023 WEF or LGAP grants for the benefit of Chee Chee Water System; requested amount $48,000.
