Pre-Registration Closing Soon for FREE Fishing Event In Natchitoches

Earlier this month, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) announced the kick-off event celebrating Parc Natchitoches joining the Get Out & Fish! Program. This family-friendly fishing event will include a fishing tournament for all ages, various fishing activities and demonstrations, and raffle prizes! The pond will be stocked with adult-size channel catfish prior to the event.

Join LDWF and the City of Natchitoches from 7 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29 at Parc Natchitoches for a day full of fun, fishing, and festivities! Pre-registration is open on Thursday, Oct. 27 until 12 p.m. The first 100 youth registered will receive a goody bag, and every participant will be entered into a raffle drawing to win prizes.

For anglers looking to sharpen their skills, LDWF is hosting Beginner Catfishing courses as part of the new Fishing Course Series at the event sites. Participants can register for these courses at Beginner catfishing courses will be offered on Friday, Oct. 28, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. for all ages, and on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. for anglers 16 and older.

The Get Out & Fish! program is supported by the Sport Fish Restoration Fund and the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Foundation.
