
The Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA) will honor five members of the LSMSA family in the annual Veterans Day assembly in the auditorium of the High School Building on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 4:15 p.m. The assembly is open to the public.
The following will be recognized:
- Senior Lecturer of Mathematics and Computer Science Department Chair Dave Andersen, U.S. Navy Quartermaster Petty Officer 3rd Class
- Alumnus Jennifer Fountain (’95), U.S. Air Force Major (active)
- Student Support Services Administrative Assistant Jackie Jacoby, U.S. Army Specialist (E4)
- Health and Physical Education Adjunct Instructor Kelvin Samuel, U.S. Army Specialist (E4)
- Associate Lecturer of Latin Dr. Morris Tichenor, U.S. Navy Lieutenant
“We are incredibly grateful for all veterans who have fought for our freedom, including those right here in the Louisiana School family,” said Steve Horton, Executive Director of LSMSA. “We look forward to having the Natchitoches community join us as we honor the selfless sacrifice of those who have served.”
LSMSA is a tuition-free, residential, public high school for high-achieving rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors with a nominal room and board fee to cover housing, meals, and campus activities.
