Update: Natchitoches Police identify suspect in St. Maurice Lane shootings

Ashton Phillips is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The Natchitoches Police Department is asking the public for assistance in locating Ashton Phillips (B/M, 19 y.o.a. of Natchitoches).

An arrest warrant has been issued for Ashton Phillips who is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and two counts of aggravated criminal damage to property.

Do not attempt to apprehend or detain this individual by yourself. Ashton Phillips is considered to be armed and dangerous. Remember all information given shall remain confidential.

Original Story: Natchitoches Police investigate gunshots on St. Maurice Lane

The Natchitoches Police Department is investigating two separate reports of gunshots being fired on St. Maurice Lane Sunday night and early Tuesday morning.

On October 30, 2022 around 9:09 p.m., officers with the Natchitoches Police Department responded to the 500 block of St. Maurice Lane in reference to gunshots in the area. Upon officers arrival they located several witnesses who said that two vehicles began shooting at an individual who was walking on East Sixth Street. Officers on scene were told that earlier in the night an altercation took place at a local business and that the individuals inside the two vehicles shot at the victim in retaliation.

On November 1, 2022 around 3:50 a.m., officers again responded to the 500 block of St. Maurice Lane in reference to gunshots in the area. Officers and detectives are still investigating this case and we will release more details as they become available.
