Lakeview’s Air Force Junior ROTC program held its annual Veterans Day program on Thursday. The entire school came out to join in the festivities.
The ceremony opened with the JROTC Color Guard presenting our nation’s flag while the Lakeview Band played the National Anthem. Coach Anthony Milner was the guest speaker for the ceremony and shared his thoughts on what it meant for him to be the son of a veteran and what the letters V-E-T-E-R-A-N mean to him. Major Wiggins, Lakeview’s Senior Aerospace Science Instructor, shared a story about the POW/MIA bracelet he’s worn for over 30 years before the Cadet Corps conducted a POW/MIA remembrance table ceremony, followed by a Flag Folding ceremony.
The Lakeview cheerleaders finished things out with their Tribute to Veterans performance.
It was a great day for Lakeview students to connect with our community’s veterans and thank them for their service to our nation.
