Sheriff’s Office prepares new recruits for academy

Three new NPSO Deputy Recruits are planning to enter the Alexandria Regional Police Academy in a couple of weeks, but before they do we’ve been putting them through in-service training programs here at the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
One is public assistance, helping stranded motorists.
We won’t name the recruits at this time pending the completion of the academy.
NPSO Director of Training Rodney May asked them this week if they knew how to change a flat tire. We’ll keep the answers confidential.
Three recruits were given examples of how to properly change a flat tire. Each of them participated in individual learning exercises of how to safely change flat tires on the side of the road for stranded motorists.
We wish them well in the academy.
We train to do our jobs but we also train to help others.
