Lady Demons’ recruiting class places 17th in mid-major rankings

Another year, another heralded recruiting class for tennis coach Jonas Brobeck. 

The three-player class was ranked the No. 17 mid-major class in the country by TennisRecruiting.net. 

The class includes Honoka Umeda, who has a 9.14 rating is ranked 144 in TRN and 327 in ITF, Maria Agustina Farina, who has a 9.16 rating and is 126 in TRN and 878 in ITf and Sara Erenda, who has an 8.35 rating and is ranked 463 in TRN. 

“We are very excited to have Sara, Honoka, and Mery join us in the fall,” Brobeck said. “They have earned us the recognition of being a top-25 mid-major recruiting class for the second time in three years. They are all great players who will help us bring SLC titles back to Northwestern State. 

The mid-major rankings in tennis include all colleges in all divisions except for the ACC, Big 10, Big 12, PAC-12 and SEC, as well as the Ivy League. Rice topped the rankings, as NSU is the lone Southland Conference team in the rankings. Louisiana Tech is the only other Louisiana team in the rankings, checking it at No. 25.
