
Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested a Shreveport man in possession of the vehicle on Interstate-49 near Natchitoches on June 22 around 2:10 pm according to Sheriff Stuart Wright.
A NPSO Patrol Operations Bureau deputy was patrolling on I-49 just north of Natchitoches when he ran the license plate of a suspicious vehicle traveling northbound through the National Crime Information Center.
The NCIC check revealed that the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu had been recently reported stolen to the Shreveport Police Department. The deputy stopped the vehicle just south of the Powhatan exit. An additional unit responded to assist as a back-up.
Deputies identified the operator of the vehicle as Tyrese T. Salone, 21 of Shreveport.
NATCOM 911 Center confirmed the vehicle stolen with Shreveport Police.
Salone was placed under arrest without incident transported and booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center charged with Illegal Possession of Stolen Things and Driving without a license.
Salone remains in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center awaiting bond.
Additional charges are pending with Shreveport Police.
A female and child in the vehicle were picked up by relatives at the scene.
The vehicle was impounded by a local wrecker until the owner could make arrangements to pick it up.
