The Child Advocacy Program at Cane River Children’s Services works to help stop child abuse and domestic violence in our area throuth prevention education and support services for victims of crime. If you have seen the movie, The Sound of Freedom, this is a local chance to help stop violence against children in our own community. Some of the children helped by this program have been victimized by sex trafficking and child abuse.
Violence in Natchitoches has increased significantly since the pandemic and these services are vital to support child victims of crime and their families. Cane River Children’s Services has recently experienced severe funding cuts and are in need of immediate support to keep these services available to our community! The Child Advocacy Program offers FREE domestic violence and dating violence intervention, child victim identification training, child victim support groups, individual sessions, parent training, and bullying prevention and intervention.
