Natchitoches Police arrest suspect for fatal hit and run crash on East Fifth Street

The Natchitoches Police Department has arrested Leroy Bynog (W/M, 58 y.o.a. of Natchitoches) for felony hit and run driving.

Leroy Bynog was placed in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.

 

ORIGINAL ARTICLE:

Natchitoches Police Department were dispatched to the 300 block of East Fifth Street on July 31 around 8:48 pm in reference to a fatal hit and run motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.

The initial investigation by the Natchitoches Police Department revealed that an unknown vehicle was traveling northbound on East Fifth Street near Carver Street and for reasons still under investigation crashed into a pedestrian and fled the area.

James Labone, the pedestrian, was pronounced deceased by the Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office as a result of his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation and more details will be released as they become available.
