The Natchitoches Police Department, the Natchitoches Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force and the United States Marshal’s Service located and arrested a 16-year-old juvenile on Aug. 3 around 4 pm for a homicide that occurred in May on Stella Street.
The juvenile is charged with Second Degree Murder and was placed in the Ware Youth Center.

Original Story: Natchitoches Police investigate homicide on Stella Street
The Natchitoches Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Monday evening on Stella Street.
On May 1, 2023 around 8:16 p.m., officers with the Natchitoches Police Department received several phone calls in reference to gunshots in the area of Stella Street and Northern Street. Upon officers arrival they located a vehicle in the 1400 block of Stella Street that had crashed into a tree with heavy front end damage. A 16 year old juvenile was located inside the vehicle suffering from several gunshot wounds. As a result of their injuries the juvenile was pronounced deceased by the Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office.
Officers were also told that two additional juvenile victims were transported to the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center by family members. One of the juveniles was later transported to a hospital in Shreveport for additional medical treatment and the other was released.
This investigation is ongoing and the Natchitoches Police Department will release more details as they become available.
