Natchitoches to hold public meetings for Safe Streets Action Plan

The City of Natchitoches will hold a series of public meetings to present information and seek public input on the Natchitoches Safe Streets Action Plan.

The City of Natchitoches is one of the eleven Louisiana cities awarded the Safe Streets for All planning grant through the Department of Transportation. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) established the new Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) discretionary program, with $5 billion in appropriated funds over 5 years, 2022-2026. The SS4A program funds regional, local, and tribal initiatives through grants to prevent roadway deaths and serious injuries.

“We hope many Natchitoches residents are able to attend one of these important meetings,” said Mayor Ronnie Williams Jr.

The purpose of the plan is to eliminate traffic fatalities and severe injuries while increasing safe, healthy, and equitable mobility for all.
