The City of Natchitoches Fire Department responded  to a structure fire on Sept. 10 around 5:43 am at 3800 University Parkway, the Quad Apartments.  Fire department personnel and equipment arrived on scene to find an apartment in the 500 building with the sprinkler system activated and smoke coming from the front door.  The sprinkler system extinguished the fire prior to personnel’s arrival.  Pre-connected hose lines were pulled from Engine 3 to extinguish hot spots while firefighters checked for fire extension into the adjoining apartments.  There were no injuries reported.  The City of Natchitoches police Department and Fire Department are investigating the cause of the fire at this time.
