We at Natchitoches Parish Fire District 1 would like to send a special word of thanks out to all the people that came when called on to help with the fire at Gorum in Natchitoches Parish. If not for the quick response from all this fire as bad as it was could have gotten a lot worse with the conditions the way they are. So thank you Fire District 1, Fire District 4, Fire District 5, Fire District 6, Fire District 7, Fire District 9, Flatwoods Fire, LA Forest Service, US Forest Service, Roy O Martin Forestry and all the firefighting air support, Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office, Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office and the 911 center and dispatchers and the citizens that donated drinking water to the firefighters. Also a big thanks to FD 1 Chief Michael Sanders for coordinating with all the agencies to protect all the structures. None were lost in this fire. Thanks to all great job everyone.
