St. Mary’s welcomes alumni, friends for Homecoming festivities

St. Mary’s faculty and staff invite all alumni, family and friends to attend the 2023 Homecoming festivities and to celebrate 135 years of St. Mary’s Catholic School.
 
Fourteen young ladies will represent the school as members of the all-senior homecoming court: Molly Blackmon, Caitlyn Braud, Luci Carr, Lexi Cross, Ava Errington, Gabby Godfrey, Ella Guillet, Sophia Hogg, Baylea Johnson, Cailynn Kay, Madison McQuiddy, Abbie Rodriguez, Anna Thibodaux and Haylee Tousek. First grade attendants for the court are Remi McMinn as the flower girl and Isaiah Armstrong as the ring bearer.
 
The senior class will be presented Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 8:30 am before the All-School Homecoming Mass at 9 am.  Following the Mass, the Em W. Knipmeyer Excellence in Teaching Award will be announced.  The homecoming parade and pep rally are scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 5 at 6 pm at the school campus, followed by a Pep Rally at 6:30 pm at the St. Mary’s football field, immediately followed by Tiger Tailgate food and fun at 6:30 pm, also on school grounds.
 
The Classes of 1953, 1963, 1973, 1983, 1993, 2003 and 2013 will be recognized at halftime of the Homecoming game. A reception for alumni will be held Friday, Oct. 6 at 5:30 pm in the Stroud Room at the NSU Field House, along with Tiger Tailgating at the NSU Stadium. The Varsity Tigers will kick off at 7 pm vs. LaSalle at NSU’s Turpin Stadium. The homecoming court presentation will begin at 6 pm.  
 
St. Mary’s welcomes home all of its alumni and friends, as the school celebrates its 135th year of Catholic education in Natchitoches.
