With dry conditions continuing to permeate the entire state, cooking restrictions are in place for Saturday’s football home opener against Stephen F. Austin.
In accordance with the statewide burn ban that was enacted Aug. 25 by the Office of Louisiana State Fire Marshall, fire safety guidelines will be enacted Saturday, including no open flames (grilling with propane, pellets, charcoal, etc.) in tailgating areas.
The Northwestern State Athletic Department encourages all who plan to tailgate to make alternate catering options, including preparing food off-site or making catering inquiries with local restaurants.
Kickoff for Saturday’s Stephen F. Austin-Northwestern State matchup is set for 6 p.m. inside Turpin Stadium.
