Robeline News

After the Natchitoches Parish Council meeting on Oct. 16, I’m happy to announce that the Robeline Heritage Society will have an official base of operations in the old Robeline-Marthaville Water Building. The building was kindly donated to us by Mr. Mains and the Sabine 1 water system. The land that the building is located on is owned by the parish which requires a CEA (cooperative endeavor agreement) for us to be able to use it legally. We’d also like to thank the Village of Robeline as they kindly hosted us while this process unfolded. We still have paperwork to finish before utilities can be reestablished and repairs can begin but we are so excited to see the project up and running.

In other news, Hickory Grove CM church will hold a kid’s day this Saturday, Oct. 21 from 2-5 pm. The theme is “Falling for Jesus.” There will be food, games, and fun for all children and youth. The church is located at 8673 Hwy. 6 in Robeline.

Provencal will hold its annual Fall Fest on Saturday, Nov. 11 starting at 10 am. A parade will roll through Provencal at 2 pm and bingo will be held at 5 pm. There will be food, crafts and music.

The Village of Robeline will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, Oct. 19 at 6 pm in the Police Department building (the old city hall).

The Cane River Homeschool Group would like to thank everyone who stopped by and made their “Wreaths Across America” Bake Sale a success. Over $300 was raised to go towards wreaths. The students will travel to the Leesville Veterans Cemetery in December to listen to a presentation and to take part in the wreath laying ceremony to honor our veterans.
