Natchitoches’ favorite season is fast approaching! City utility trucks are starting to string up lights. Miss Merry Christmas and the Belles are making appearances at local events. A sense of anticipation is building. 

The 2024 Miss City of Lights, Kaitelyn Yopp, joined Miss Merry Christmas Victoria Marie Wiggins and the Christmas Belles at the Natchitoches Art Guild Gallery for the unveiling of the official 2023 Natchitoches Christmas Festival Poster on Oct. 29. This year’s poster was painted by Matthew Dawson. Dawson is a Natchitoches Native who is now a pharmacist making his home in Pineville. His daughter is carrying on the family’s artistic inclinations as a graduate student at NSU’s Art Department.

The Natchitoches Parish Journal wishes to commend Dawson for a job well done. The poster is a superb piece of artwork.
