Boys to Men Club: Week of Service

The Boys to Men Club at the Natchitoches Jr. High completed a Week of Service Oct. 30 – Nov. 3. For one solid week, the students worked hard and put in some quality hours of giving as well as community service.

A brief synopsis of this week’s activities included…

Monday: assisted cafeteria staff (cleaned up, swept, mopped floors, wiped tables and took out trash)

Tuesday: assisted custodians (moved books, took out trash, swept floors and moved chairs and tables)

Wednesday: provided rewards to hard-working honor roll students at M.R. Weaver Elementary School

Thursday: packed and gave out 25 mesh book bags full of school supplies that included loose leaf paper, pencils, pens, erasers, highlighters, sharpies, and composition notebooks to several students in need at the school

Friday: provided lunch to the administration team at NJH to show appreciation for all they do to keep the school running smoothly on a daily basis

The club finished the week off strong with lunch from Southern Classic Chicken. This is what the Boys to Men Club is all about…preparing young boys for manhood and giving back to the community at the same time.

The Boys to Men Club is 5 years strong and continues to grow each and every year. For more information contact Club Director Jermaine Thomas at jermaine.thomas@npsb.la or call the school during school hours at (318) 238-0066.
