The Natchitoches Police Department has arrested a suspect for a shooting that occurred Sunday evening on Touline Street.
Natchitoches Police Department officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Touline Street on nov. 19 around 6:32 pm in reference to a single vehicle crash. Upon officers arrival they made contact with the driver of the vehicle who was suffering from an ankle injury that appeared to have been caused by the crash. The driver was transported to the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center where he told officers that he was shot by an occupant in the vehicle who fled the area prior to law enforcement arrival.
Officers were able to identify Victor Ventrell Taylor (B/M, 27 y.o.a. of Natchitoches) who was placed under arrest without incident later in the night. He is charged with attempted second degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Victor Ventrell Taylor was placed in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center.
