Fourteen year old Alyssa Brewton, a freshman at St. Mary’s Catholic School, recently traveled to Youngsville and competed in the USA Louisiana State Powerlifting Meet, bringing back first place in her weight class in the High School division. She broke two State Records and holds four State Records in her weight class. A great competitor broke her squat record! She is ranked #1 in the State and will know her ranking in the Nation within a week. Before, this meet she was ranked #11 in the Nation. She will be competing in the USA High School Nationals in 2024! 

 

Alyssa didn’t start the meet good and stayed trailing in second place until deadlifts. She finally found her zone and showed up and showed out on the platform. Her impressive pull of 303 lbs secured her in first place.

She has only trained and competed as a RAW lifter but, will be transferring over to equipped. Alyssa is a member of the Varsity Softball team, Beta member, FBLA member, Cooking for a Cause member, Summer Dance Committee and Vice President of her Freshman class! 

 

She gives all the GLORY to the Good Lord above!
