NCHS softball starts fast, blasting Caldwell Parish

The Natchitoches Central High School softball team has a new coach but just
like in the last several seasons, the Lady Chiefs are looking formidable.

Thursday, they ripped Caldwell Parish 16-0 in a two-hit shutout by three
NCHS pitchers, supported by a 15-hit attack.

NCHS got a three-run home run by Skylar Braxton in the second inning, then
scored seven more times in the third frame including a Lila Robertson solo
homer and a three-run single by Morgan Robinson.

Sydney Terrell threw three no-hit innings for NCHS, followed by effective
relief from Syndi Jones and Ehren Guidroz.

Braxton led the Lady Chiefs with three hits while Jones, Robinson, Terrell,
Robertson and Mallory Lacour each had a pair. Sadie Spillman drew three
walks.

NCHS goes to Winnfield Monday in its next action.
