District Attorney Billy Joe Harrington announced the dispositions in three felony theft cases.
Matthew Robinson, 20 of Natchitoches, violated the terms of his probation. In 2022, Robinson originally pleaded guilty to theft. The theft related to an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was sentenced to felony probation, with several terms and conditions in which he must adhere. In April 2024, a probation revocation hearing was held due to Robinson accused of violating the terms of his probation. Judge Sylvester ruled Robinson was in violation and ordered him to serve the original sentence of 10 years of incarceration at hard labor.
Also, Chrystal Harrison, 37, of Natchitoches, pleaded guilty to theft of a motor vehicle. The guilty plea was the result of an incident in December 2023 in which Harrison stole a car key from an acquaintance at their home and then left with the vehicle without authorization. She was arrested shortly after the theft occurred. In court, District Court Judge Lala Sylvester sentenced Harrison to five years of incarceration.
In a separate case, Antonio Johnson, 40, of Natchitoches, pleaded guilty to theft. Johnson’s plea in court related to a theft of a laptop computer and several cellphones. At the time of his arrest, Johnson had two active warrants for his arrest relating to other criminal charges. Judge Sylvester sentenced Johnson to eight years of incarceration at hard labor.
Assistant District Attorney Jason Methvin prosecuted the cases.
