The Natchitoches Police Department is investigating an early morning shooting that occurred on Lakeview Drive

On July 25, 2024 around 4:01 a.m., officers with the Natchitoches Police Department responded to the 400 block of Lakeview Drive in reference to gunshots in the area.  Upon officers arrival they located several bullet casings in the road, property damage to a vehicle and a residence.

Investigators with the Criminal Investigation Division were called to the crime scene and collected over twenty bullet casings from the roadway.  While in the area detectives and officers spoke with several witnesses and searched the area for additional evidence.  The bullet casings will be sent to the crime lab for further analysis and ballistics testing.

None of the residents inside the apartment were struck by gunfire.

This investigation is ongoing and the Natchitoches Police Department will release more details as they become available.
