Maggie Guy, a Health, Science and Exercise major at Northwestern State University employed at a physical therapy business in Natchitoches, was thrilled to be able to accept an Operation Christmas Child shoebox returned by a patient. She has been involved in Operation Christmas Child since she was a child, first at North Keithville Church and now at Summer Grove in Shreveport. Maggie is thrilled to be a part of this ministry in Natchitoches.
The shoeboxes are filled with something to
WEAR. (clothes or shoes),
WASH (washcloth or toothbrush),
WOW (toys, stuff animal, balls, dolls)
WRITE (school supplies),
WORDS (encouraging words and/Or picture of the family) for boy or girl ages 2-4, 5-9 or 10-14. This is the only gift a child may receive in their life time. The school supplies may allow the child to go to school for the first time. These shoeboxes are a tangible way to express God’s love for them. The gospel is shared multiply times at the distribution.
Operation Christmas Child is a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse. Displays are located at Family Eye Center, MOVE, Dr. Matta’s office, Dr. Jimmy Cade’s office, and A’nala Salon. Pick up a shoebox, pack it full, and return it to the business, your church, or First Baptist Church in Natchitoches. National Collection Week is Nov. 18-25. If you have any questions or would like more shoeboxes for your church, organization, school, business or family call Brenda Ingram at 471-9415.
