The Natchitoches Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated recently collaborated with the Natchitoches Parish Registrar of Voter’s Office to facilitate the registration of high school seniors for voting. Outreach efforts included visits to Natchitoches Central High School, Natchitoches Parish Technical and Career Center, and Lakeview Junior Senior High School. As a result of these endeavors, 65 students were successfully registered to vote. It is pertinent to note that individuals as young as 17 years old are eligible for voter registration. The deadline for in-person registration is Oct. 7, while online registration closes on Oct. 15. Early voting will be conducted from Oct. 18-29 at the Natchitoches Parish Courthouse.
