Natchitoches Police arrest individual for battery of a police officer

The Natchitoches Police Department has arrested Demontray Pier (B/M, 24 y.o.a. of Natchitoches) for battery of a police officer, resisting a police officer with force or violence and criminal trespass.

Natchitoches Police Department officers were dispatched to Super 1 Foods on Keyser Avenue on Feb. 17 around 10:45 am in reference to removing a previously banned person from the property. Upon officers arrival they located Demontray Pier inside the store’s restroom smoking a cigarette. Demontray Pier was advised that he was under arrest and began to fight with officers. During the altercation an officer was struck in the face by Demontray Pier causing a facial fracture.

Demontray Pier was placed in the LaSalle Corrections/Natchitoches Detention Center.

The officer was brought to the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center and was referred to another hospital in Shreveport for further treatment. The officer was released from the hospital later that night.
