After district championship seasons and plenty more success out of district play, the boys basketball teams at Natchitoches Central and Lakeview earned first-round byes with high seedings in their respective LHSAA playoff brackets released Monday.

That means the Chiefs and Gators won’t play Friday in the first round and will host second-round playoff games next week.

NCHS (23-5) is the No. 4 seed in the Non-Select Division I bracket.

Lakeview (24-5) is third-seeded in the Non-Select Division IV tournament.

Both teams are aiming to return to the Marsh Madness state final four in Lake Charles next month. NCHS was the Division I runner-up.
