District Attorney Billy Joe Harrington announced today that a Natchitoches Parish grand jury has returned an indictment against Antonio Hudson, 29, of Natchitoches. Hudson has been indicted on one count of possession of more than 250 grams of fentanyl with intent to distribute.
Under Louisiana law, a conviction for possession of fentanyl in excess of 250 grams carries a mandatory sentence of life imprisonment at hard labor, with at least 25 years to be served without the benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. Hudson is scheduled to stand trial on May 5, 2025.
A grand jury indictment is a formal charge issued by a panel of Natchitoches Parish citizens, signifying that sufficient evidence exists to proceed with prosecution.
