The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office announced on March 17, the launch of the Reactionary Enforcement to Crime Trends, Outstanding Warrants, and Narcotics (RECON) Campaign.
This proactive initiative is designed to combat rising crime rates, address outstanding warrants, unsolved felony crimes and address the ongoing narcotics issues impacting our communities in Natchitoches Parish.
NPSO Criminal Investigations Bureau Major Jonathon Byles said “The RECON Campaign represents a renewed commitment by NPSO to respond swiftly and effectively to the evolving challenges facing our neighborhoods. By focusing on current crime trends, outstanding warrants, unsolved felony crimes, and the growing drug crisis, the initiative aims to improve public safety, restore justice, and prevent further harm to families and individuals across the parish.
The RECON Campaign will focus on the following objectives:
*Increased operations targeting criminal activities, outstanding warrants, and drug-related offenses.
*Using advanced data analytics to identify crime hotspots and allocate resources efficiently to maximize impact.
*Actively engaging with the public through Crime Stoppers and the NPSO narcotics tip line to encourage community participation in fighting crime.
“We are committed to creating a safer environment for our residents,” said Sheriff Stuart Wright. “The RECON Campaign provides us with the tools and strategies needed to directly address the most urgent issues facing our community. By working together with residents, we can make a real and lasting difference.”
Through cutting-edge technology and analytics, NPSO will focus on areas with high crime activity and rising narcotics use. This evidence-based approach will allow law enforcement to respond in real time to emerging threats, providing a more focused and effective response.
The success of the RECON Campaign depends on active community participation. The NPSO encourages local residents to report suspicious activity or provide tips related to narcotics, unsolved felony crimes or outstanding warrants through the Crime Stoppers hotline or the NPSO narcotics tip line. All information provided will remain confidential.
