
The Natchitoches Police Department has arrested Christopher Braden (B/M, 33 y.o.a of Natchitoches) for a vehicle theft that occurred over the weekend in the 200 block of Ainsley Street.
Natchitoches Police Department officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Ainsley Street on March 15 around 9:20 am in reference to vehicle theft. Upon officers arrival they made contact with the victim who was able to provide a description of the suspect.
While officers were searching for the stolen vehicle they were notified of a single vehicle crash in the area of the theft. Officers arrived on scene and located the stolen vehicle submerged in a swamp with no driver. While looking for the driver officers were notified that a person fitting the suspect’s description was attempting to gain access into other vehicles at a local business. Christopher Braden was located and was placed under arrest without incident.
Christopher Braden was arrested for theft of a motor vehicle, criminal mischief, simple burglary, reckless operation of a vehicle and hit and run. He was placed in the Sabine Parish Detention Center due to the Lasalle Corrections / Natchitoches Parish Detention Center not accepting inmates.
