Two teenagers were arrested, and three firearms were seized following a suspicious persons call on March 18 that prompted a swift response from the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office and Louisiana State Police according to Sheriff Stuart Wright.

At approximately 11:26 am, deputies assigned to the NPSO patrol operations bureau and LSP responded to reports from the NATCOM 911 Center about two young males seen waving handguns in the air near Ellen and Gabrielle Streets, located off Hwy. 494, south of Natchitoches. Concerned citizens reported observing the males enter a double-wide manufactured home on the 100 block of Ellen Street.

Upon arrival, law enforcement set up a perimeter around the residence. Deputies knocked on the front door and heard running inside the home.

Shortly after, they made contact with two males, ages, 16 and 17, inside the residence. The two were identified, and the homeowner was contacted. The homeowner informed deputies that she did not know the males and had not given them permission to be in her home.

With the homeowner’s consent, detectives from the NPSO criminal investigations bureau conducted a search of the residence. During the search, three firearms were discovered, including two loaded Taurus G3 semi-automatic handguns (one with an extended magazine) and a Wise Arms AR-15 style pistol, also with an extended magazine capable of firing multiple rounds. The homeowner confirmed that the firearms did not belong to her.

As a result, both males were arrested without incident and transported to the NPSO Criminal Investigations Bureau for processing.
