
The Natchitoches Police Department arrested Alvin Holden (B/M, 26 y.o.a. of Natchitoches) and Wilma Carter (B/F, 43 y.o.a. of Natchitoches) for a homicide that occurred last November on Lakeview Drive.
The Natchitoches Police Department’s Violent Crime Task Force located Alvin Holden and Wilma Carter on April 16 around 9:33 pm in the 1100 block of Washington Street after several days of surveillance.
Alvin Holden is charged with Second Degree Murder and Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property. He was placed in the LaSalle Corrections / Natchitoches Detention Center.
Wilma Carter is charged with Accessory after the Fact for Second Degree Murder and Accessory after the Fact for Attempted Second Degree Murder. She was also placed in the LaSalle Corrections / Natchitoches Detention Center.
Chief of Police Nikeo Collins stated that, “I commend our officers for their dedication and diligence in seeking out violent offenders in our Natchitoches Community.”
The Violent Crime Task Force was formed to investigate violent crimes utilizing all forms of intelligence including social media, tips from citizens, technology, and partnerships with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. The Violent Crime Task Force is funded by the SERVE Natchitoches Project (BJA FY24 Rural and Small Department Violent Crime Reduction Program).
Update: Natchitoches Police locate first suspect for homicide on Lakeview Drive
The Natchitoches Police Department has located, Angle Lee Reed (B/M, 31 y.o.a. of Natchitoches), who was wanted for Second Degree Murder and Attempted Second Degree Murder.
Natchitoches Police Department officers were contacted on Nov. 13, 2024 around 2:11 pm about a possible body in Cane River Lake. Upon officers arrival they located a body in the river and contacted the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office search and rescue boat for assistance.
Officers and deputies were able to recover the body of, Angle Lee Reed, who was pronounced deceased by the Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office.
The second suspect, Alvin James Holden (B/M, 26 y.o.a. of Natchitoches), is still wanted for Second Degree Murder and Attempted Second Degree Murder.

The Natchitoches Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred early Sunday morning on Lakeview Drive.
Natchitoches Police Department officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Lakeview Drive on Nov. 10, 2024 around 3:10 am in reference to a gunshot victim. Upon officers arrival they located Marshall Claiborne (B/M, 55 y.o.a. of Natchitoches), the victim, suffering from several gunshot wounds. Marshall Claiborne was transported to the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries.
The Natchitoches Police Department has obtained arrest warrants on the following suspects:
Alvin James Holden (B/M, 26 y.o.a. of Natchitoches) is wanted for Second Degree Murder and Attempted Second Degree Murder.
Angle Lee Reed (B/M, 31 y.o.a. of Natchitoches) is wanted for Second Degree Murder and Attempted Second Degree Murder.
