The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office was honored to join fellow North Louisiana law enforcement agencies on May 14 at the Bossier City Police Department’s Peace Officer Memorial Ceremony in Bossier City. The ceremony was held in observance of National Police Week and Peace Officers Memorial Day, a time to honor and remember those who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Detective Lieutenant Victor Kay, the 2024 NPSO Deputy of the Year, was selected by his peers to attend the ceremony in honor of fallen NPSO Deputy Ricky Ray Issac Jr. Deputy Issac was killed in the line of duty on December 8, 2012, while serving the citizens of Natchitoches Parish.

A memorial wreath, generously donated by Jeanne’s Country Garden of Natchitoches, was displayed during the ceremony to commemorate Deputy Issac’s sacrifice. Following the event, the wreath was returned to Natchitoches Parish and placed at Deputy Issac’s memorial cross located on Louisiana Highway 1, south of Cypress.

Sheriff Stuart Wright and the entire Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office express their sincere gratitude to the Bossier City Police Department for hosting a beautiful and respectful ceremony. Special thanks are also extended to Jeanne’s Country Garden for their thoughtful donation and continued support in honoring fallen heroes.
