Brian Young Sr. named new Head Football Coach at Natchitoches Junior High

Natchitoches Junior High is excited to announce the appointment of Brian Young, Sr. as the new head football coach. A proud Natchitoches native, Coach Young brings a wealth of experience, a passion for youth development, and a proven track record of success on and off the field.

Coach Young, a devoted family man, is married to his childhood sweetheart, Felicia, and is father to five children. He is a graduate of Natchitoches Central High School, where he earned letters in football, track, and powerlifting before pursuing higher education at Southern University and Northwestern State University. At NSU, Coach Young also played football as a walk-on athlete. He holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Phoenix and has been a dedicated educator and coach in the Natchitoches Parish School System since 2014.

With over a decade of coaching experience, including a previous stint at Natchitoches Junior High from 2017 to 2018, where he coached the 7th and 8th grade teams to an impressive combined 20-5 record. Coach Young is committed to using football as a platform to teach life lessons, discipline, and hard work.

Principal Bobby Benjamin, Jr. expressed his enthusiasm for the new hire, stating, “Coach Young is exactly the leader our program needs. I believe he can help change the culture of our school by bringing a winning mindset to our students and instilling discipline and hard work within his players. His dedication to student success, both on the field and in the classroom, will have a lasting impact on our school community.”

Coach Young shared his vision, saying, “I want children to understand that success can be achieved if you give your heart to God and never give up. I represent the underdogs, and I want my students to know that no matter the circumstances, you are never out of the game unless you quit. I’m grateful for this opportunity to return to NJH and help shape young minds through football.”
