Krewe of Dionysos joins Texas flood relief effort led by Louisiana business owner

The Krewe of Dionysos is extending support beyond state lines by contributing to a Texas Flood Relief Drive aimed at helping communities recently devastated by severe flooding.

The relief effort is organized by Craig Spandoni, owner of Bead Busters in Scott, Louisiana. The drive is accepting donations through Wednesday, July 23, and aims to gather essential items to assist Texas families as they recover from the widespread damage.

The Krewe of Dionysos, known locally for its community involvement and Mardi Gras celebrations, donated supplies to the cause and is encouraging others to join the effort. Donations can be dropped off daily between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the following locations:

Bead Busters – 4909 Cameron Street, Scott, LA 70506
Mandez’s Seafood Bar and Grill, Youngsville, LA – Non-perishable food only
Mandez’s Seafood Bar and Grill, Lafayette, LA – Non-perishable food only

Organizers are asking donors to adhere strictly to the following list of needed items:

  • Personal hygiene products
  • Non-perishable food
  • Baby items (food, formula, diapers, wipes, new bottles)
  • New chainsaws, including chains and chain bar oil
  • Cleaning supplies (industrial mops, shovels, heavy-duty work gloves – no rubber gloves)
  • Insect repellents (bug spray, wipes, wasp spray)
  • Gift cards (Visa, Walmart, Target)

Note: Water is not being accepted.
