Rodrick McIntosh appeared in court the morning of July 31 for arraignment on new charges. Representing him is newly appointed defense counsel George L. Higgins from Pineville.
Prosecutors from the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office—Assistant District Attorney Amanda Brotherton Todd and Assistant Attorney General Darwin Miller—are handling the case for the state. During the hearing, Higgins waived a formal reading of the bill of indictment and entered a plea of not guilty on behalf of McIntosh.
The Judge assigned two future court dates: a motions hearing scheduled for October 10 and a pretrial conference set for November 13. All parties are required to appear in person for both proceedings.
It was noted that the case will involve “voluminous discovery,” signaling a potentially complex pretrial process.
