Planned event near Natchitoches not sanctioned – Law enforcement presence expected

The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office (NPSO) Criminal Investigations Bureau has been made aware of a planned public event scheduled for Saturday, August 9 between the hours of 7 p.m. – 1 a.m. on Old Bethel Road near Natchitoches.

Upon further investigation, NPSO detectives contacted the Natchitoches Parish Government Office and confirmed that this event has not been sanctioned by parish authorities. No permits have been issued in accordance with Natchitoches Parish Ordinance #003-2025, which governs Public Interest and Special Events.

As such, the event is not in compliance with local ordinance regulations. The property owner has been notified of the violation.

In response, the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office will maintain a heightened law enforcement presence in the area on the evening of Aug. 9 to ensure public safety, deter unlawful activity, and enforce applicable parish ordinances and state laws.

The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office advises the public to avoid the area during the event timeframe and reminds residents that all public events held on private or public property must be permitted and approved through the appropriate parish channels in advance.
