A recognition ceremony will take place on Friday, Oct. 10 at 11 am at the Natchitoches Events Center to honor the 2025 Natchitoches Treasures. The Natchitoches Treasures are a select group of retirees in Natchitoches who have made significant and lasting contributions to the community through their generosity, service, volunteerism, and spirit. Light refreshments will be provided. The event is open to the public and the media.

The 2025 Natchitoches Treasures were chosen by a committee composed of previous Natchitoches Treasures. Treasures have been selected annually since 2008 based on nominations from community members.

The 2025 Natchitoches Treasures are Alma Alost, Debra Gant, Burley Johnson, Emile Metoyer, Elvin Shields, and Diane Vienne.

The recognition ceremony will highlight the contributions made by each newly elected Treasure to the City of Natchitoches and the community and pay tribute to past Natchitoches Treasures.
