The Robeline Heritage Festival is finally here. We will be kicking things off at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3 with our Kids and Gospel Night. There will be a hay ride and free hotdogs for the kids in the park. The Natchitoches Parish Library will be there with a fun activity for the kids also.
For entertainment we will begin a local group The Homegrown Tomaters at 5 p.m. followed by the Stuart Family and Friends at 7 p.m. We look forward to seeing everyone.
Saturday of the festival will be a packed day with plenty of events for all ages. The Heritage Society building will be open from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. for visits with free coffee and donuts donated by Sonny’s and the Donut Hole in Natchitoches. At 10 a.m. we will have a children’s parade around the walking track in the park and our 1st clue for the scavenger hunt will be given out. Also at 10 a.m a cornhole tournament will be held at the pavilion at the ball park. At 11:30 our pageant queen will host visiting queens for a queen’s tea. Parade line up will begin at 1 p.m.
The parade will begin at 2 p.m. After the parade please join us in the park for performances at the stage as well as the Queen’s introductions. We will award the winners of the parades, scavenger hunt and tournament then also. Before our evening entertainment begins we will hold a cake walk and auction at the stage. We will begin Robleline’s Got Talent at 5 p.m. and the Ryan Matthews Band will go on at 7:30 p.m.
We’re going to have a park full of vendors this weekend. For food we’ll have all kinds of sweet treats, lemondades, dirty sodas, bbq nachos, chicken on a stick and sno cones to name a few. On the craft side of the park will be a variety of vendors with plenty to peruse in between events.
The Heritage Society will be operating out of the gazebo as usual. We’ll have our own food tent and it will be the place to get your festival shirt and enter any of our contests. Come see us.
We’re looking forward to a fun filled weekend in Robeline and can’t wait to see everyone.
