Construction work began on a 1,200-foot section of Woodyard Drive, approximately 0.2 mile east of South Drive on Oct. 7. This work will consist first of cold-planing to remove the existing asphalt surfacing. During this operation, one-lane two-way traffic will be maintained by use of flaggers.
Upon completion of the cold-planing work, later on Tuesday, the existing base material will be pulverized in preparation to receive cement treatment. During the pulverization operation, this street will be closed to all traffic for the safety of motorists, but will be re-opened prior to nightfall.
Beginning at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8, this section of Woodyard Drive will again be closed to all traffic for the cement treatment operation, but should be re-opened by 12 pm on Wednesday.
During the road closure periods, motorists must detour around the work site via Abbie Drive and Saida Street.
On or around Friday, Oct. 10, the new asphalt surfacing will be placed on this section of Woodyard Drive, but one-lane, two-way traffic will be maintained during this operation.
