Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies have released the names of two suspects taken into custody by DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Deputies following a vehicle pursuit that began in Natchitoches Parish and ended in DeSoto Parish on Sunday evening, Nov. 16, according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The incident began shortly after 3 p.m., when Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies and Robeline Police responded to reports received by the NATCOM 911 Center of a disturbance involving a male and female on La. Hwy 485 at Mallard Hill near Robeline.
When deputies attempted to make contact with a 2016 Honda Accord at the scene, the driver fled, leading NPSO deputies on a pursuit through the Spanish Lake and Allen areas before entering I-49. The pursuit continued northbound on I-49 into DeSoto Parish, where the vehicle exited at the Asseff Exit and traveled into what has been reported as a dead-end area.
Two suspects, the driver and a passenger, fled from the vehicle on foot, while two additional passengers remained in the vehicle.
DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Deputies, Louisiana State Police, and Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries agents responded to assist. A manhunt ensued, with DeSoto Parish deputies deploying K-9 units and drones. Shortly after 6 p.m., both suspects were located and taken into custody by DeSoto Parish deputies.

Larris Edwards, 28 of Natchitoches, transported and booked into the DeSoto Parish Detention Center charged with Resisting by Flight.
Both suspects will be released to Natchitoches Parish deputies at a later time. Deputies have learned during the preliminary stages of the investigation that the pursuit followed a disturbance between Larris Edwards and a female. Deputies interviewed the female at the Robeline Police Department.
