UPDATE: Hearing for Natchitoches Community Improvement Foundation Postponed

ORIGINAL UPDATE from February 2, 2026 – 9AM

A hearing has been scheduled for Feb. 9 in the 10th Judicial District Court to determine whether a previous court order regarding the Natchitoches Community Improvement Foundation Inc. should be vacated.

The hearing, set for 1 p.m. before a district judge ad hoc, will address a motion to rescind an Oct. 15, 2025, order. The legal proceedings involve the Citizen of Democratic Action Inc. and Helen Obioha against the Natchitoches Community Improvement Foundation.

According to court documents, the hearing will require Christopher Sylvia to show cause as to why he should not be removed as the special master in the case.

Additionally, the court will consider whether the foundation’s board should be restored to full possession and responsibility of the corporation’s cash and financial accounts.

The notice was issued Jan. 30 by the office of David Stamey, the Natchitoches Parish Clerk of Court.
