UPDATE: A court hearing regarding the Natchitoches Community Improvement Foundation Inc. that was scheduled for next week has been postponed due to a scheduling conflict.
The hearing was originally set for Feb. 9, 2026, in the 10th Judicial District Court. However, District Judge ad hoc Jimmie C. Peters ordered the hearing to be “upset” after the court was notified of a preexisting conflict in the schedule of one of the attorneys of record.
The legal matter, Citizens of Democratic Action Inc. and Helen Obioha v. Natchitoches Community Improvement Foundation Inc., et al., involves a motion to vacate a previous court order and the potential removal of the case’s special master.
According to the new order:
-
The Feb. 9 hearing is officially canceled.
-
The matter will be refixed for a future date based on the availability of the court and all counsel of record.
-
The order was signed by Judge Peters on Jan. 28, 2026, and filed with the Natchitoches Parish Clerk of Court’s office on Feb. 2.
