The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development reports work is continuing on the LA 117 overlay project in Natchitoches Parish as crews conduct asphalt paving operations along the corridor.

According to DOTD, the project is aimed at providing motorists with a fresh driving surface. The overall project is expected to be completed in Fall 2026, weather permitting.

DOTD also announced additional improvements are planned for the LA 117 corridor in both Natchitoches and Sabine parishes. The upcoming project will include an asphalt overlay and the addition of turn lanes along sections of the highway from LA 8 to LA 118, covering nearly 20 miles of roadway repairs.

That project is currently scheduled to go out for bid this fall.
