Lakeview High School student receives national academic honor

Lakeview High School student Caitlyn Hooks has been selected for membership in The National Society of High School Scholars, a national organization that recognizes high-achieving students for academic excellence, leadership and community involvement.

The announcement was made May 8 by the organization, which said Hooks earned the distinction through her demonstrated commitment to scholarship, leadership and service.

Membership in the society is extended to students who meet rigorous academic criteria and have shown exceptional achievement both inside and outside the classroom.

In announcing the recognition, NSHSS Co-founder and President James W. Lewis praised Hooks for her academic accomplishments and dedication, noting that she now joins a nationwide community of scholars focused on academic success and future leadership.

The organization provides lifetime membership and offers students access to scholarships, leadership opportunities, networking events and educational resources designed to help prepare them for college and future careers.
