Goldonna Area Fire Protection District 2 will hold its next monthly board meeting on Tuesday, June 9, at 7 p.m. at the Goldonna Fire Station.

The district is encouraging individuals interested in becoming volunteer firefighters to attend the meeting and complete an application.

To qualify, applicants must be at least 18 years old, possess a valid driver’s license and generally pass a background check. Exceptions to background check requirements may be considered with approval from the fire chief.

Current board members include Chief T-Boy Sampey, Secretary Candace Paul Smith, Jesse Rachal, Herman Tatum, James Wright, Terry Garner and Deveon Brister.

District officials noted that Natchitoches Parish Fire District 2 operates as a 100 percent volunteer fire district.
