I-49 lane closures scheduled between LA 6 and Natchitoches Parish line for striping project

Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, June 22 on Interstate 49 in Natchitoches Parish, according to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.

The project will take place along I-49 from the interchange at LA 6 to the DeSoto/Natchitoches parish line. The work will require nightly single lane closures from approximately 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The scope of the project includes adding reflectorized raised pavement markers, plastic pavement striping, and other related work in both the northbound and southbound lanes.

Nation Striping Company, LLC was awarded the contract as the low bidder for $1,330,853.90. The work is expected to take approximately 50 working days to complete.

Thru traffic will be maintained at all times, and oversize and emergency vehicles will be allowed passage. There are no detour routes designated for this project.

The DOTD reminds motorists to drive with caution through the construction site and to look out for work crews and their equipment.
